Hi, I'm Dottie!

MY BACKGROUND

I hold a Bachelor of Arts from Queens College and spent two years teaching in the New York City School System. After raising, teaching, and advocating for my son with autism, I earned a master’s in social work from Southern Connecticut State University. With 15 years counseling and residential management experience at non-profits, I became a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor for the State of Connecticut. I am actively listening to every voter, regardless of affiliation, point of view, or background.

I believe a community is judged by how it treats and provides for its most vulnerable citizens.

MY PRIORITIES AS YOUR STATE REPRESENTATIVE INCLUDE:

  • Protect and preserve our neighborhoods, open space, and natural environment.

  • Help our local businesses grow and thrive.

  • Support our children’s needs, in and outside school.

  • Keep healthcare affordable.

  • Preserve rights and access to reproductive healthcare.

  • Stand up for and support legislation and services on behalf of the most vulnerable and often left behind people in our communities: the elderly, our children, and people with all types of disability.

  • Work across party lines, in Hartford and locally, to bring available funding into Shelton, Stratford, and Trumbull.
